A Moment Spent Alone Doing Something I Enjoyed

Nowadays, life is much busier because of the upcoming Singapore Youth Festival and Continual Assesment One. Balancing the time for practising with my instrument and the time for school work is difficult, yet somehow i can manage it. However, because of how time consuming it is to do school work and practise playing my instrument for the Singapore Youth Festival, I barely have enough time to breathe!
Today, I looked for my bed straight away once i reached home. I was so tired! There was a final band practise for the video of the marching of the band which we are taking tomorrow. It was raining during the  afternoon, so we started late.
Unfortunately the rain continued after the band trained for about a hour, well it was actually lucky for me since I did not have to march due to the nature of my instrument and I was getting bored of looking at the rest march. Still, I reached home quite late, but I was happy as it is the last school day of the week!
As Chinese New Year is coming, my mother was constantly reminding me to tidy up my things, throw or give away things I do not need, buy some new clothes, and many other things. So I decided to clean up my stuff a little.
It was nearly bed time and I was nearly finished with my cleaning up. I only had a box of things left I had to throw. But, I opened it to make sure that no important stuff was put inside accidentally. It was then I saw a old book I used to read. I took out the book and checked the rest of the box, nothing important was inside, so i threw the box. I looked at the book I took out, and decided to read it.
The book I read was very simple and easy to read, but I loved it since it reminds me of the time in my Primary School. this book was actually given to me by one of my teachers. I only remembered her when I was halfway through the book.

Together with some friends, I joined the 'reading buddy programme' to help those in lower primary who are not good with english to improve their reading and communicating skills. I read the book again and think about my primary school, I really miss it and want to go back, but I am in another school now, and I have to continue moving forward. The book serves as a memory of my primary school so I kept it in a place I keep most of my important stuff in. I really enjoyed the book and what it reminds me of, but it is getting late, I took it out to read it for the last time before I go to sleep.

Something That Took Place In School

My friend Marcus is a very bright child, even though he acts stupid in school. But, he is extremely clumsy.
Today we had mother tongue lessons. Some people in my class were in express Chinese instead of higher Chinese so we had to go up to the classroom in the fifth floor.Marcus, Royston, some others and me were in express Chinese so we had to walk up the stairs.
"Hey Marcus, is there any homework?" I asked Marcus.
"No, obviously no homework. If there was, I bet most of us will be in trouble." Royston interrupted.
"Actually there is but the teacher said not to pass it up today."Marcus replied. We were looking at the time and it seems we are already late, so we had to rush up the stairs and quickly enter the classroom. We ran up the stairs as fast as we could, telling those around us to make haste too. We reached the fifth floor very fast as it was only two stories away.
As we walked towards the door, Marcus just suddenly fell down! I looked at his feet, there was literally nothing around him but a flat ground. My classmates gathered around to see if he is okay, although most of them just laughed at him for tripping over a flat ground. Royston helped him get up and check if he had any injuries. Luckily there were none. When asked how did he trip over flat ground, Marcus just answered "I don't know!"  Hopefully he will be more careful next time, and not fall down for no reason at all.

A special moment i enjoyed with my family

It was Friday evening; I just got home from school feeling extremely tired after a very long day. My school bag was thrown onto the floor as I lied down on my bed, taking a well deserved rest at the end of the week.
Then, I heard the door opening; I went out to the living room and found my parents getting in to the house. I felt that this was strange since they usually get off work at much later and different times, so how did they get home so early that day? My father asked me "You surprised to see us home so early?" As he asks, he lifted up some groceries.
It was my lucky day! Both of my parents arriving home early along with groceries mean my mother is going to cook dinner! Although it rarely happens, but my mother is quite a chef and I love what she cooks. My father and I turned on the television while my mother started to prepare our dinner.
By the time my mother had finished cooking, both my father and I were already starving. We all sat down and ate together. Without even realising, all the food was gone! Later, my mother started to talk about her work, and she has a lot of stories from work. I think my father actually has things to talk about to, but my mother has so much to talk about, that neither my father nor I have a chance to speak. So, while she was talking, my father and I took and wash the dishes.
After dinner, we watched a funny television programme. All of us were laughing and having a good time. But, time flies when you have fun, and my parents had to sleep so that they will not be late for work. But, I will definitely cherish that night as it is rare of us to sit and eat together as a family.

Something unusual that happened today

Something weird happened that day, and I wonder if I will see that guy ever again.

I was sent to the supermarket by my mother to go buy some groceries because she just got home from work and was very tired. She gave me a list of what to buy as she knew that i would probably forget what to buy.
I got the stuff my mother needed very quickly and checked almost everything off the list she gave me. The only thing left was some cereal so that i would not go to school on a empty stomach. I searched for the brand which i liked the best, and when I found it, I only saw one box left. "Must be my lucky day to get the last box" I thought to myself, but before i could reach it, someone took it.
My heart sank, the last box of my favourite cereal brand was taken away by someone. But, as i started to walk away disappointed, that guy walked to me and passed to me the box of cereal. I was thinking, why would he give me the cereal, but a closer look at him allowed me to realise the reason. He was my good old friend way back from kindergarden, we lost contact with each other since primary two and have not seen or spoken to each other ever since. He knew that I like this cereal, and I thought that was why he gave it to me, his memory must be really good to even remember that.
He and I talked for what seemed like only a few seconds, although in actual fact it was hours. Our parents were calling us to ask where we were and we had to go our seperate ways. I hope I see him again someday and I learnt that true friendships really last long.

A problem I encountered and how I managed it

This morning, I was nearly late for school, this is probably the first time i got so close to being late.
Last night, i reached home quite late and there was a pile of homework which i have not done. I struggled to rush through my homework, but eventually i did all of them but it did took me a long time and i ended up sleeping much late then usual. Afraid I was not able to wake up on time, I told my parents to wake me if I cannot stay up.
The alarm was ringing and it cut my beautiful dream of getting full marks in an exam. After the rude awakening of my alarm clock, i went to shower. But, I was so tired, that right after i showered i went back to sleep.
Soon after, my parents woke up, they tried shaking me a little to wake me up, but it did not work. There was very little time left before school starts, so instead of trying to wake me up gently, they just took buckets of cold water and dumped everything on me. I was soaking wet, but I was wide awake, and thanks to that I made it to school on time.
Luckily I thought ahead and told my parents to wake me up if I could not stay up, otherwise I would have been late for school. I am also lucky to have such good parents who sacrificed some of their sleeping time to make sure I reach school on time.
